Dissatisfaction with the environment, a feeling of being born in the wrong place, unpleasing adaptation to low living standards, and more were the experiences I had growing up. The economy was declining, water was scarce, electricity supply was poor; I no dey comot from church after Sunday service, wetin I wan do for house when light no dey? Most days, I would complain about my country, why weren’t things working for us? I would ask why we couldn’t be like the people we saw in foreign movies until I realised that if it was to be, it was up to me.

I want to be that person who doesn’t just see what is wrong, but seeks to make things right; that citizen who is always contributing his quota to change the status quo; that nation builder who will take the necessary actions to see how he can fulfill the pledge he made to serve his country with all his might while inspiring others to also live patriotically. I will love to be that Nigerian who is building the dream Nigeria.
